Farmafactoring was founded in 1985 by a group of Italian and multinational pharmaceutical and biomedical companies with the need of having a single interlocutor in the difficult operation of credit management in a particular sector like the National Health Service.
Farmafactoring works as a leader in Italy in the management of credits towards Local Health Companies providing services of management and recovery of claims, accounting of revenues, with recourse and without recourse financing. Farmafactoring, thanks to its wealth of specific know-how on the management of National Health System cash flows and thanks to an advanced system of I.T. procedures at the service of suppliers too, is able to constantly monitor and evaluate the accounting, administrative and financial scenario of the bodies of the National Service , of the Public Administration, of suppliers and Banks in order to optimize credit management methods and the relatives operating procedures.
Since the year 2000 the operations of the Company has been extended also to the Public Administration sector, which is critical for what concerns the problem of payments.
Since the year 2003, Farmafactoring, actively participates next to Regions and Local Health Structures in the effort of solving the problem of debts in the Health System intervening with direct and focussed regional agreements with the different suppliers, trade associations and operators of the sector. Farmafactoring also tries to promote the securitisation of health debts.
In the years 2004 and 2005 Farmafactoring won the Carli/Lombard Elite prize as the best factoring company, thanks to a buoyant and balanced business management that brought a constant growth in its role of financial intermediary in the Public Administration sector.
During the year 2006 Farmafactoring experienced an important turnover of the stock system: the controlling block shifted to FF Holding Spa, which is a company completely controlled by Apax Partners funds, one of the primary private equity groups in the world, with the aim of developing and enlarging the activity of the company.
